As I write this, I’m 12,496m up in the air, flying over the Aegean Sea en route to Dubai, before my final leg home to Auckland. I’ve been on a work trip to France, one of the most fashionable places on Earth, where I visited Coco Chanel’s original 1918 maison in Paris’s fabled rue Cambon, and experienced a once-in-a-lifetime dinner in a Versailles-like château in the centre of the perfume industry, Grasse, on the French Riviera. It seems fitting that as we put the finishing touches on our Winter Wanderlust issue, I’m returning to my desk overflowing with inspiration.
