Massey Ferguson has announced the release of its new MF 9130 Plus self-propelled sprayer in Australia. The company says the new sprayer is designed especially for operations looking for a robust, entry-level sprayer, and is well suited for smaller and medium-sized operators thanks to its “simplicity, strength and exceptional value”. The MF 9130 Plus self-propelled sprayer is built at Massey Ferguson’s factory in Canoas, Brazil. Northern Ireland slurry machinery specialist SlurryKat has launched a new trailing shoe injector and Bak Pak hose reeling system. The new injector unit has been developed on the back of the company’s highly successful trailing shoe which was introduced in 2008 and has sold more than 2300 units globally to date. SlurryKat says the injector design is completely new from the ground up in every way. The main innovation, which the company says is unique to the new injector unit, is that it can ‘piggy back’ carry a hose reeler containing up to 1000m of 6-inch bore hose. Kuhn is aiming to make silage operations quicker and cheaper with its new BP 3135 Bale Pack baler-wrapper combination machine. Benefits such as lighter rolls, reduced film usage and tighter seals helped the FBP 3135 Bale Pack take home the Machine of the Year 2018 award in the Forage Harvesting category at last year’s Agritechnica expo. “Following carefully mowing, tedding and raking, silage needs to be secured for storage – and to prevent loss of nutritional value, the bale needs to be sealed as soon as possible,” Kuhn product manager Michael Murer says. “Traditionally, silo production required more than one machine, as well as multiple operators – but this system creates a true one-man operation via its bale-and-wrap technology.” Murer says the FBP 3135 Bale Pack – which is designed…

With a digital screen, smart sensor technology and on-the-go efficiency, the Q-companion allows operators to weigh their load during a lift cycle. Customer requests have led Allcott Hire to add another 10 JCB 525-60 C telehandlers to its expanding fleet. The telescopic handler’s popularity stems from the fact that its 2.5-tonne size will handle most materials on a building site, Allcott Hire procurement manager Alan Edgerton says. The company began unifying its fleet with JCB machines after finding itself with a number of different types and brands of machinery after a series of acquisitions. It now has more than 100 JCB units. Over 95 per cent of Allcott Hire’s clients around Australia are from the building and construction industries, with most projects being residential apartment and commercial buildings. Swedish company Väderstad has added several new features to its record-holding Tempo planter. The world’s fastest precision planter – the Tempo planted 502ha of maize in just 24 hours in April 2017 – will include a new front-mounted fertiliser hopper and variable rate application technology. Väderstad product manager Joe Read says the FH 2200 front-mounted fertiliser hopper (pictured) compliments the performance of the Tempo. “Equipped with twin Fenix III electric metering systems, the 2200-litre hopper can precisely deliver up to 250kg/ha of fertiliser at speeds up to 15km/h,” Read says. A high-performance hydraulic fan blows the metered fertiliser back to the planter via a transport tube. Agriculture, transport/warehousing and construction have topped the list of Australia’s most dangerous industries. This marks the third year running that the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector has taken top spot, with 14 fatalities per 100,000 workers, according to analysis of 2016 Safe Work Australia data by finder.com.au In real numbers, there were 44 deaths and 3510 serious injuries. In second place was the transport, postal and warehousing sector with 7.4 fatalities per 100,000, followed by construction with 3.3. Between them, these three industries accounted for 69 per cent of all workplace fatalities. On the injury side, the three recorded 17.5, 14.4 and 16 serious Safe Work Australia claims per 1000, respectively. With an overall width of just 1.45m, the new MC18 rough-terrain forklift from Manitou is designed for work in restricted spaces. The ultra-compact material handler is also just 2.95m long and has a cabin height of 2.15m.
