My 6-year-old son, Teddy, has done a lot of traveling. As a military kid, he visited 20 states before he turned 1, and he has lived in four different places, including Japan, in his first six years of life. Of all the places Teddy has been, his favorite is my family’s farm in rural Iowa. He loves helping my dad, Ted, with his many farm chores, and the two enjoy spending entire days outside together. Last year, leading up to our visit at Grandpa Ted’s, Teddy wrote out a to-do list of things he wanted to accomplish on the farm.
