VEGETABLE HASH A great way to use up all your leftover root vegetables in one easy meal. PREPARATION: 5 MIN COOKING: 20 MIN SERVES 2 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil 500 g mixed vegetables (sweet potato, pumpkin, potato and carrots), cubed 250 ml (1 cup) frozen peas 2 eggs salt and pepper 1 Heat 15 ml (1 tbsp) oil in a medium non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add mixed vegetables and cook, tossing often, for 20 minutes until vegetables are tender and crisp around the edges. Add the peas and toss well. Keep warm over low heat. 2 Add remaining oil to a medium non-stick pan over medium heat, crack eggs into pan and fry until done to your liking. 3 Top the vegetables with the eggs, season…

CUTICLES Dry, ragged cuticles are often caused by cold weather. They’re not only unsightly – they can also be painful, so keep them hydrated by rubbing cuticle oil in daily. Here are five easy steps to get them in tip-top shape. 1 Soak a small towel in warm water, wring out the excess water then wrap the towel around your hands. 2 Keep the towel in place for about five minutes to soften your skin. 3 Using a cuticle pusher, gently nudge each cuticle back towards the nail bed. Be gentle as you do this – it shouldn’t be a painful experience. 4 Once you’ve pushed back your cuticles, use a cuticle cutter to trim the excess skin. Be careful not to cut too close as this could cause bleeding.…
