Alexina, known as Nina, had a dolls house as a child, lovingly made by her father, but it was shared with her sister, so when she had a daughter of her own, back in 1969, little Nina was to have one all to herself!
Just like mummy Nina, little Nina’s dolls house would be made by her father, Ian. The family were living in a small flat in Edinburgh at the time, and Ian was using the Reader’s Digest home improvements manual to refurbish it. He’s always been handy, especially when it comes to woodworking, and professionally he trained as a draughtsman and graduated in Mechanical Engineering.
