This happened years ago, but I’ll never forget it. I found a natural opening in the woods just 30 yards from a main farm field. The ¾-acre meadow had been torn up from the previous fall, with rubs, scrapes — mature buck sign — everywhere. It was obviously a staging area, and I was already looking for a place to hang my stand.
