A POWERFUL candlelight service was held in Athlone and saw six policing sub-districts gather to honour fallen heroes and celebrate women’s strengths. McKenzie is being accused by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), ActionSA and the African Transformation Movement (ATM) of using the K-word. McKenzie made headlines last week when he and the Patriotic Alliance (PA) brought criminal charges against the Open Chats podcast for claiming that coloured people are “incestuous” and “crazy”. A MANENBERG woman was shot during a drive-by shooting on Women’s Day while on her way home from the butchery. Davidene Witbooi, 40, was gunned down in a hail of bullets on Saturday. According to Daily Voice sources, Witbooi was a witness in her brother Clinton Lewis’s murder case. Lewis was allegedly shot in front of his family members, including Witbooi.
