TWO high-school seniors were among the four people that were killed in a tragic car crash over the weekend in Brackenfell. On Saturday evening, four victims were declared deceased after a vehicle crashed into a tree in Cecil Morgan Road and caught fire while two other victims were taken to hospital for medical treatment. Spokesperson for the Western Cape Education Department, Millicent Merton confirmed that two of the victims involved in the crash were identified as Fairmont High School Grade 12 learner Perth Keaden Eksteen and former learner Daniel Jansen van Rensburg. Roonesha Jooste, 25, gave birth to a baby boy named Lee-Hogan Jooste on 25 June at Delft Day Hospital despite her due date being 11 July. She claims that the medical staff did not do a thorough check on the baby when he was born and he quickly developed jaundice after they were discharged six hours after birth. MOTORISTS have been warned to avoid known danger zones as more and more people are falling victim to hijackings and smash-and-grabs across the Cape. In the most recent case, a blue Renault Kwid was hijacked in New Woodlands, Mitchells Plain during the early hours of Sunday morning and later found stripped in Browns Farm, Philippi. Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said that the matter is under investigation.
