ALLEGATIONS over security breaches at Pollsmoor Prison have arisen after a bandiet escaped from the mang on Sunday.
While Yanga Wayithi was busted yesterday after his escape on Sunday, insiders have revealed that he escaped through a broken fence near Westlake.
At the time, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) revealed that the 35-year-old inmate, who is serving a six-month sentence for theft and trespassing, was assigned to a work team responsible for maintaining the facility’s grounds.
According to a Daily Voice source this was the second escape in recent months and is a result of a broken fence.
