THE eThekwini Municipality’s councillors approved the entity’s Cleansing and Solid Waste (CSW) Turnaround Strategy on Monday. The strategy has been developed in alignment with National Treasury’s Metro Trading Services Reform Framework. The waste management directorate will change from a traditional unit to a CSW business directorate with a single point of accountability. This will enable the executive director of the Waste Management Directorate to have the necessary responsibility and authority to improve its services and to be held accountable. A 50-year-old Durban man who killed his girlfriend, the mother of his child, in 2019 and fled the country has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment by the Durban High Court yesterday, this after he was arrested at the Kosi Bay border post near Mozambique last year. Jabulani Mdlalose pleaded guilty to killing Ziningi Mkhize from Dassenhoek on April 4, 2019.
