CRIME Intelligence has been rocked by another scandal as new information has revealed that the unit was in the process of purchasing two properties in Durban, through a company linked to members of the SAPS. Cape police have asked the public for their assistance in locating two men who could shed light on Saturday’s mass killing, which left seven people dead in Gugulethu. The Gugulethu Community Police Forum (CPF), the Western Cape Provincial Community Police Board, and the Cape Flats Safety Forum have condemned not only the weekend’s violent shooting in the Kanana informal settlement, but also the spate of violence which took place across the Cape Flats. ESKOM has strongly rejected claims circulating online about imminent stage 4 and stage 6 loadshedding from July 6 to July 20 with the power utility saying the country’s power system remains stable with loadshedding suspended since 10pm on 15 May 2025. “The Winter Outlook, published on May 5, 2025, covering the period ending August 31 2025, remains valid. THE Road Accident Fund (RAF) has revealed that it has recorded a significant increase in young people being involved i motor vehicle accidents. Over the last five years, the RAF has has recorded a 43.5% rise in personal claims from individuals aged between 15 to 35 with 70 743 claims having been submitted by this age group, while claims filed by those younger than 15 years old was 15,227.
