RESIN IS A LIQUID PLASTIC that becomes solid following the addition of a ‘hardener’. It has many different uses and features greatly in jewellery making as bangles, beads and adhesives – and is often used to cover other items such as dried flowers or metal to turn into pendants and focal pieces. It is also quite lightweight, which means you can wear multiple layers of resin beads and not get a sore neck! Resin is viscous so it is well suited to being used in moulds; this makes it an ideal medium to use if you wish to make the same item over and over again. MATERIALS 45cm 24 gauge wire 1 x head pin Small threadable magnet clasp BEADS 120 x 2 cut Matsuno 1 x 8mm bi-cone crystal 2 x 6mm bi-cone crystals 3 x 4mm bi-cone crystals TOOLS Round nose pliers Wire cutters Rating STEP ONE Wings Using wire, cut approximately 25cm for large wing.
