KAY RECALLS exercising her creative flair through painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting, enamelling, ceramics and specifically, by making dolls clothes and even breaking up her Nana’s discarded beads to turn into ‘new creations’. These skills translated into adulthood, where Kay acquired further knowledge and experience through various art forms including calligraphy, bookbinding and even Celtic knot work.
When the need to earn an income arose, Kay turned to her ability to create unique and intriguing pieces from recycled materials. All types of recycled finds from op shops and indeed the recycle tip allowed Kay to transform everyday items into finished articles, which she sold at local markets.
