Vanessa Vales and her husband, Javier, bought a 1951 ranch house as a foreclosure in 2013 and spent a year and a half renovating the Georgia home from top to bottom.
“Planning the kitchen was my favorite part,” Vanessa says. Her husband and son, Javier Isaac Jr., worked together to bring her vision to life, building a corner pantry and banquette seating to maximize the room’s relatively small footprint. They also installed new flooring, cabinets and appliances, plus a subway tile backsplash and floating shelves.
“We love the results,” Vanessa says, adding that she’s thankful her husband and son were able to complete the project themselves. “I’m so proud of them.”
