The 1850s Cape Cod home in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, had been stripped of its character when Sandy Beliveau and her husband, Frank, went to look at it six years ago. They walked away, only to turn back later. “We realized the potential and knew we could restore the charm,” Sandy says.
With an affinity for a Colonial Williamsburg design aesthetic, they jumped in, replacing beams, chair railings, hardware and paint, and using reproduction stencils for the walls.
Within a year, the house was ready to reveal, which the couple did when they hosted 150 people there for their youngest daughter’s outdoor wedding.
