Please do eat the roses—plus the violets, pansies and daylilies. Many easy-to-grow flowers are both beautiful and delicious, adding delicate flavors and bright colors to fresh or baked foods. Petals are the tastiest part of most flowers. A rose petal’s white base can be bitter, so cut or tear it off first. Feel free to eat entire squash blossoms, nasturtiums, violets, sage, chives, pansies and violas. 1. Position the switch plate over the design you want to feature. Cut the paper (wallpaper, old map or gift wrap) around the switch plate, leaving ¼ in. trim. 2. It started when my daughter, Shelby, and I were driving the gravel road between two of our pastures and came upon the rogue calf outside the barbed wire fence. I instructed Shelby to let me out at the gate, ease the truck past and around him, and then flush him back toward me. I’d open the gate and boom! No need to call my father for backup. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Natural willow or grapevine wreath form Decorative green craft moss Seed packets (enough to fill wreath form) Jute twine Strip of natural burlap fabric Gardening gloves Glue gun DIRECTIONS 1.
