AS WE ENTER INTO THE ENCHANTING SEASON OF AUTUMN, I am filled with nostalgia. I reminisce about my childhood in Minnesota and have so many wonderful memories of blanket forts on the backyard clothesline, crunchy leaf piles perfect for dive-bombing into, s’mores over campfires and hot cocoa with scoops of marshmallow cream piled high. Later, the season came with boisterous football games, homecoming celebrations, the fun of new sweaters and comfort meals from Mom’s simmering crockpot. Meet Carrie, the final villa to be completed by Sara McDaniel of Simply Southern Style in Minden, Louisiana. You’ll recall that Sara was the focus of our Project House 2022 and that she lovingly renovated a series of dilapidated apartments called The Villas at Spanish Court, preserving their history while filling them with style. “This last villa to be revealed is called The Carrie after Carrie Schmitt, the artist who designed the wallpaper featured throughout the space,” Sara says.
