With over 500 lots encompassing railwayana, motoring, aviation, advertising, street furniture and general toys, the last John Goodwin event proved to be a busy one. For pond lovers, a radio-controlled sailing yacht (the Dragonfly) looked the business: at 125cm long, it was an impressive craft and it realised £100. In contrast, a painstakingly scratch built model of a three masted clipper showed one modeller’s skills to a T; it was 110cm in length and must have consumed many hours of workmanship. A bargain, therefore, at £50.
One surprise was the large box full of Britains Swoppet figures: containing AWI, Union and Confederate soldiers, as well as cannon and equipages, there were plenty of cavalry included to tempt those present. The huge lot achieved £1,700.
