It had been the worst winter break ever. Outside, the weather was too blizzardy and freezing to even go sledding. Inside, everyone in Finn’s family was getting on each other’s nerves.
“I’m bored, bored, BORED,” Finn said crossly. “Can’t we go somewhere?”
“Somewhere warm,” Mom said with a sigh, bouncing cranky baby Lila in her arms. “Santorini. Tahiti. Fiji.”
Finn had never heard of those places. “I want to go to the zoo,” she said. “I want to see the penguins.”
Finn’s big brother Ash snorted. “You’d better hurry,” he said. “Before they’re all gone. My book says the ice caps are melting, and pretty soon there won’t be any penguins or polar bears left.”
“Ice melting? What are you talking about?” asked Finn. “It’s freezing out!”
