At the recent NEC Classic Car Show, the Rootes Archive Centre Trust announced that, a year ahead of schedule, they have paid off the £185,000 they borrowed from supporters and Rootes vehicle clubs five years ago. This means they now own the freehold of their premises in Wroxton, near Banbury outright.
The Trust was formed in 2004 by the Association of Rootes Car Clubs in order to house, conserve and preserve the Rootes engineering archive of over 300,000 drawings and other artefacts, all of which was at the time in danger of being lost forever.
