The £7999, 996cc, 125bhp, 90° V-twin sportsbike goes on sale. Featuring an alloy oval section trellis frame, and novel rotary damper rear suspension, testers and first buyers report serious front end stability problems. Available in red, black, dark green.
SUMMER 1997
Recalled to have a steering damper fitted and re-mapped ECU to tame midrange and peak power. New bikes came in this spec as standard. Silver and yellow bikes become available.
1998-2001
Further recalls to sort leaking fuel tank, engine breather and frame cracking issues. Updates to the clutch, gearbox output shaft bearing and crankcase, cylinder head inlet port shape, ECU, coolant…
