Probably the GT-R’s closest rival, Toyota’s fabled Supra matched the Skyline’s twin-turbo straight-six power, surprising practicality and distinctive Japanese style. Values are comparable and standard cars are easier to find, but it lacks quite the sharpness of the Nissan.

Smaller, lighter, sharper and fizzier than the Skyline GT-R, Mazda’s rotary reprobate combines a unique powerplant with gorgeous exotic styling. Cheaper than the Nissan, but being far thirstier, more temperamental and less refined, it can’t be the daily driver the Skyline can.
