Famed classic EV-converter, Electrogenic, has launched its drop-in electric powertrain swap for the DeLorean DMC-12, joining the firm’s other conversions for the Land Rover Defender, classic Porsche 911, Mini and Jaguar E-Type. Replacing the thirsty PRV V6, Electrogenic’s EV conversion utilises a 43kWh battery pack fitted in place of the fuel tank, and produces the equivalent of 215bhp, dropping the 0-60 time from 11.1 seconds to 4.9 seconds. The exhaustively developed ‘drop-in’ package is available now via Electrogenic’s global installer network, which includes numerous partners in the United States.
