Anglia Car Auctions’ latest two-day-sale classic sale took place at its King’s Lynn base on June 22-23, with 290 cars and 80 motorcycles going under the hammer, plus automobilia and registration plates. Naturally it was the cars that piqued our interest, and there were plenty of stand-out results – particularly when it came to blue ovals.
We expected a tidy 1986 Ford Sierra Cosworth to do well, and so it proved when it flew past its £28,000-£34,000 estimate to sell for £50,760. A more family-friendly 1993 Sapphire Cosworth also performed well, making £22,572 against a £15,000-£18,000 guide. As for older Fords, a Mk3 Capri 3.0 S showing 42,000 miles managed an impressive £34,020 – some £8000 over its upper estimate – with a 1986 2.0 Laser beating its £14,000-£16,000 guide…
