MGA
The MGA offers a similar bare-bones roadster experience to the TR2, but wrapped in arguably prettier styling, not to mention the option of the XK120-esque FHC model. More plentiful and far better supported by parts suppliers and clubs, you may also find a good one cheaper than an equivalent Triumph, but it’s maybe a bit too common for some.
AUSTIN-HEALEY 100
Predecessor to the legendary 3000, the Austin-Healey 100 offered more pace and more space than the TR2, but an altogether more demanding driving experience – the 100 got the white-knuckle reputation that became synonymous with big Healeys, but put the effort in and you’re handsomely rewarded. Prices are nearly double that of our Triumph, however.
