The Aston Martin Bulldog has achieved its goal of reaching 200mph over 40 years after its last attempt. Designed and built by Aston Martin in 1977 with the intention of becoming the world’s fastest production car, the Bulldog reached a speed of 191mph at the MIRA (Motor Industry Research Association) test track in 1979. After falling short of its 200mph target, the one-of-a-kind creation was sold to a Saudi Prince, for £130,000, only for its engine to blow up on his first drive. Classic Motor Cars in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, has restored the Bulldog over an 18-month period, with the restoration taking 7000 hours to complete.
