The popular Cornish classic car event, Run to the Sun, is set to return following a 10-year absence. Originally created in 1987 and made popular by air-cooled Volkswagen fans, the relaunched event will be held at a new venue near Cornwall Airport, Newquay, on the weekend of May 27-28. The organiser, Andreas Christopheros, was a director of the festival in the past and aims to resurrect it as a smaller-scale, family-friendly gathering that returns to its roots as a classic car show. The original Run to the Sun was held at Fistral Beach before moving to Trevelgue Holiday Park in Newquay.
