The sale of 15 classic cars formerly owned by the late Robert Furniss Riding, as previewed in our September 7 issue, has sold for a total of £1.1 million – with more than £750,000 of that going to the RNLI and other charities. Robert, an avid collector with a passion for Rolls-Royce and Bentley, was also a highly experienced sailor.
The cars making six-figure contributions towards the total were a 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Sedanca Coupe (£170,000), a 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Vanden Plas Tourer (£140,000), and a 1956 Bentley S1 Continental (£160,000).
