Letchworth Motor Auctions’ first ever Classic, Retro & Performance Car Sale took place on July 9, achieving an overall sale rate of 68 per cent, with 31 of the 47 vehicles on offer sold under the hammer and further deals being completed afterwards for a combined total of almost £138,000.
Highlights of the auction included a 1996 Rover Mini Cooper, the Japanese import being described as “immaculate” and attracting a winning bid of £9375 including buyer’s premium. Meanwhile, the 1980 Rolls Royce Corniche FHC that we previewed in our June 29 issue, a car that had undergone over £25,000 of improvements including a full engine rebuild and fuel-injection conversion, sold for £32,500.
