Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group have completed their $52 billion tie-up and have formally merged under a new name – Stellantis.
Having first announced plans to merge in October 2019, it took over a year for the Italian-American and French automakers to finalise the deal, during which time the economy was hugely disrupted by Covid-19. Registered in the Netherlands, the Stellantis group has become the world’s fourth biggest carmaker and includes 14 brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall.
