When beautiful socialite Nell Cropsey went missing in North Carolina, USA in 1901, it was a psychic who solved her murder. On 21 November, she went out onto the front porch and never came back. Her family drafted in a psychic called Snell Newman who came to their home and identified Nell’s final hours. LADY IN WHITE Ghost hunters in Sheffield have captured a spooky image of a ‘lady in white’ at a graveyard – and they believe it’s the ghost of a merchant’s wife who hanged herself 170 years ago. In October, Retford Ghost Hunters live-streamed their investigation at Sheffield General Cemetery, and were contacted by one of their viewers, who’d spotted the ghost on the footage. The graveyard is reputedly haunted by Katherine Parker, whose husband William was a cutlery pioneer, and one of the first people to be buried in the cemetery, a year after it opened in 1836.
