Clothes: An average rural consumer buys 5-10 garments/ garment sets per year.
Shoes: High frequency of online shopping, not just basic footwear but also reputed brands such as Puma and Adidas, especially in markets such as Kutch, Gujarat and Latur, Maharashtra
Wedding-related goods: Expensive photo albums, often three feet by two feet in size, wedding day clothing for the couple, refrigerators, furniture and mattresses
Personal care items: Sachets are passé – Rural consumers prefer bottles of shampoo and hair oil. They mostly buy sachets of only premium brands.
Consumer durables: Flat screen TVs, split airconditioners, washing machines…
