MORE ABOUT DANIE
“Oupa” Danie Gerber is a long way from retiring, and boasts that he still keeps up with the young rugby players he coaches. From 1980 to 1992, Danie played for the Eastern Province, Western Province and Free State, among others, and was a Springbok, of course. Today he and his wife, Elsabé, live in Cape Town. They are the proud grandparents of Elliott (18 months), who lives in France with their son, Danré, and his wife, Julie. Danie and Elsabé also have a daughter, Elanie.
