From her first Arctic foray back in 2004, climbing has been central to Rapisardi's sailing. During that first thwarted trip to the Northwest Passage, her eyes were drawn to the rock faces and, the following year, she returned to Baffin Island in her Oyster 72 to tackle them. “We opened about 30 new routes for rock climbing,” she says. “I went every year with my Alpine guide - the granite rock there is incredible, and you can climb in T-shirts.” Sometimes they climbed from the shore, other times, directly off the tender- a Zodiac Milpro.
