Look for the silver lining
There may not be any one name more appropriate than Silver Lining for Christensen Shipyards’ latest launch. Since the 2009 recession, the builder had struggled to find secure footing despite attempts to diversify, new orders and high-quality yachts delivered. In February 2015, craftsmen reporting for work found the gates closed at the Vancouver, Washington, shipyard, and a month later, its assets were turned over to a receiver. In July 2015, Henry Luken, who owned shares of Christensen where he built several yachts, purchased the yard’s remaining assets with a business partner. They included three boats under construction.
