In light of a COP26 filled with lacklustre promises and the London Science Museum signing a gagging clause in a sponsorship agreement with an arm of energy/coal giant Adani, the climate crisis situation continues to look bleak. This isn’t the first time that the Science Museum has found itself in receipt of financial backing from a fossil fuel company (having previously signed a similar agreement, including a gagging clause, with Shell). If one of England’s biggest science museums is unable to say anything that could damage either of these company’s reputation, e.g speak out against the use of oil and coal, what does that mean for the future of public education regarding the climate crisis? You can’t miss the bright yellow shop front of Small Pond as you turn the corner on Castle Street. It’s been a favourite spot for musicians to rehearse and make a lot of noise undisturbed for years. But ‘rehearsal studio’ doesn’t really do the place justice. Small Pond run festivals, create live streams and sessions, shoot films, release records, and just about everything else you can imagine a bunch of music fans determinedly setting their sights on. A jewel in Brighton’s creative crown… The Institute for Contemporary Theatre (ICTheatre) unveils stunning new facilities. For decades, it has been thought that you need to be in London to get top-level performing arts training – with sky-high tuition fees and living costs, but that has changed with ICTheatre’s offer available here on the South Coast. When you’re attending a show knowing only little about the performer, the genre and the audience, your experience can often be a roll of the dice. Knoops had humble origins in Rye - a historical town right on the border of East Sussex. There founder Jens Knoops opened his very first speciality hot chocolate shop, despite the initial misgivings of the local townsfolk about the unconventional chocolate shop with the “foreign name nobody can pronounce” (like “kuh-nups” if you were wondering, and in Dutch means buttons!).
