Thank you, Mark Carwardine, for your recent article regarding our terrifying situation and the sixth mass extinction of life that we are observing (My way of thinking, December 2020). It is so good to see that the truth is, at last, starting to be seen and heard in mainstream media, but there is still such a long way to go.
Over the last two years, I have noticed an almost complete absence of insects in my garden, the eight hedgehogs that were living in my back garden when I moved here seven years ago have disappeared and the flocks of starlings and blackbirds, which were once abundant in this area, have diminished.
