WHEN WE GOT THE 3 A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, THE MPG NEEDLE seemed to settle around 44mpg, after a few hundred miles of 46mpg. This made sense, we thought, given Mazda claims 44.8mpg combined, and the whole point of these new WLTP numbers is that they’re a more accurate idea of what mpg a car might actually do day-to-day.
