In a world of multi-use niche-busting, figuring out if you’ve achieved what you set out to do can be problematic. After all, if you’ve got a cross-platform sports-SUVlimo-hybrid, mission statements can get… convoluted. But the Volvo XC90 seems to know what it wants to be, and that’s refreshing. And what it wants to be is versatile, practical, comfortable and calm. I know, I know, this doesn’t sound like the kind of car TopGear usually gets frothy about, but as a daily driver for a medium-sized family, the XC90 makes all kinds of sense.
