■ Danny Coker, an outfielder who played for multiple teams in 1964 and ’65, died Oct. 12. He was 78.
■ Dick Ellsworth, a lefthander who was a fixture in the Cubs’ rotation from 1960 to ’66, died Oct. 10. He was 82. Ellsworth was an all-star in 1964 when he went 14-18, 3.75 in 256.2 innings. He finished his career with the Brewers in 1970 and ’71.
