DAVID ALBRIGHT, a lefthander who pitched in the minor leagues for the Royals organization from 1979-1982, died March 7 in Liberty, Mo. He was 63.
DAVE ALEXANDER, who served as head baseball coach at Purdue from 1978-1991 and later worked as a scout for the Mariners, died Feb. 26 in Lafayette, Ind. He was 79.
Alexander guided the Boilermakers to a 407-378-7 record in 14 seasons and led the team to its first NCAA Tournament apperance in 1987.
JOHNNY ANTONELLI, a lefthander who pitched 12 years in the major leagues, including seven seasons with the Giants, died Feb. 28 in Rochester, N.Y. He was 89.
Antonelli amassed a 126-110, 3.34 career record during his big league career, made six all-star teams and helped the Giants win the 1954 World Series.…
