The East Coast Professional Showcase, one of the top events on the summer showcase schedule, is moving to Tampa this summer. The Yankees will host this year’s version of the event at Steinbrenner Field from July 27-30.
Scouts choose the 150 players who attend East Coast Pro every year, and the event has grown in stature since its first year in 1996, when it was held in Chapel Hill, N.C. The event moved to Wilmington, N.C., for several years before a stint in Lakeland, Fla., and then Syracuse, N.Y.
