It may have been ‘hillbilly rules, as Allan Moffat once described Sports Sedan racing, but for a while in the early-to-mid 1970s it was hands down the best form of sedan racing in Australia – faster, louder, more spectacular and a more diverse array of machines than the then-new ‘Bathurst’ Group C touring cars.
