I loved your article on Moto Guzzi’s history (AMCN Vol 70 No 15)! My father was a Guzzi dealer in California in the early 1970s. (Also Ducati, Laverda, Husqvarna, Monark, Penton, and some minibikes).
Dad, my brothers and I were all into dirt bikes. Mum took a light interest, so dad brought home one of the minibikes and, with some basic instruction, set her loose in a nearby field. She got off the hardpack and into the rough, and crashed. But she still wanted to try riding, so dad thought something more stable might be a better idea.
