At the time of first print, Bonita Creswell-Young lives in a century-old house she has painstakingly restored at Hepburn Springs, in the heart of Victoria’s spa country. She harvests a bounty of fruit from the apple, pear, plum, peach and fig trees the original German-Swiss-Italian owners planted when they built the house. Bonita turns the fruit into pies, jams and preserves, grows her own vegetables (and trades with her neighbours), bakes her own bread (and trades it for fresh eggs). By her own definition, she is living the good life.
