Fueled by my adoration for the environment, my practice explores nature's inherent unpredictability and uncontrollability while often seeking to find beauty in destruction. Through my work, I present abstract macro perspectives of the natural world that offer viewers new ways of seeing and allow them to perceive micro details typically concealed from the naked eye. These perspectives compel viewers to pause, question, and make sense of what they behold as they instinctively search for familiar elements within the visuals, forging a connection with nature. Working with materials that produce uncertain outcomes, I create each piece in ‘the moment’ through trial and error, eagerly awaiting fortunate strokes of serendipity. My latest pieces have emerged from my quest to adapt my practice to the confines of my home during the coronavirus pandemic.…

My photographic images aim to bring the audience closer to the natural world, enable the viewer to engage with organic shapes’ beauty, and elicit positive and empathic aesthetic responses. The images celebrate the extraordinary colours, shapes and forms of the stunning natural landscape at different times of the year. The play of light and shadow, colour, tone and pattern all shift and change with the seasons, with rebirth and renewal providing bursts of striking beauty. Individual photographic elements that form the basis of these pictures have been digitally captured from parks and gardens and the broader landscape. They are combined and manipulated until entirely unrelated representative and abstract images become one. Dichotomies exist within the images as they combine elements from the natural world – of nature, flora and landscape…

These works arose from my own emotions and experiences. A woman in the family is surrounded by a platitude of things that form repetitive routines. This series shows how a mother with many children ran away from the routine, finding sophistication and beauty in the simplest surrounding objects. As the war began in Ukraine, the perception of everyday life changed. There are new challenges, like the protection of life. The last photo is about the pain of loss and emotional emptiness caused by constant stress and tension from the war. But also about hope and the belief in the victory and reconstruction of Ukraine.…

It's around six years now since I started an introspective search through empty and lonely rooms in which, for some unknown reason at the time, my mind noise (that kind of toxic chatter which is a side effect of our brain activity) disappeared. I gained full presence and conscience of myself and my surroundings. Thus, my work ‘Rooms of Solitude’ was born, and my will to complete it took me to Prypiat, the town near Chernobyl, which was evacuated in 1986 and left in the middle of the Exclusion Zone, and hence without any human population since then-quite a find from a creative point of view. Andrés Gallardo Albajar The Muralla Roja apartment complex is one of the most iconic pieces of Spanish architecture. Over the years, Spanish photographer Andrés Gallardo Albajar visited this place to photograph it repeatedly. He took photographs from various angles to get an ample vision of the manifold lines, shapes, and colours. He expanded his approach in his project, Urban Geometry, was surprised by Korean Schools in Seoul and photographed a small village in Spain. Muralla Roja is a residential complex built in 1973, comprising many individual apartments, some used by Airbnb rentals. There were too many visitors and photographers, so the residents closed the gates to the building. One day, Andrés Gallardo Albajar was on his way home in Alicante from an assignment and stopped by to take some photos.…

I have been photographing for more than 20 years. I am drawn to making photographs of things that are challenging to capture, like astrophotography, extreme macro and ferrofluid structures. During the lockdowns, I bought several 50-year-old research microscopes. These have been set up with polarising filters, jerry-rigged eyepieces, phototubes, and adapters and allowed me to capture the wonders of the shapes, patterns, and bursting explosions of the colours of crystals of various substances and chemicals in polarised light. After refining the process, the project evolved from an interesting photographic experiment into a proper artistic foray. In Notting Hill, London, Alveston Fine Art held a joint exhibition which included 16 of my photographs, printed large on Chromaluxe in March 2023. The exhibition was a resounding success for my work.
