Reflections
To the adage that a practising architect needs to be part artist, part plumber and part diplomat, with Peter Elliott one must also add part social activist, part civic dreamer, acute thinker about cities, lover of yellow and of bluestone, guardian of the small, brutally honest critic, sharer of ideas, culture keeper and practice ethicist, each wrapped up and entwined together. He is, in my mind, the complete and consummate practitioner, conceiving of large and small commissions through a deep respect for architecture and the role it plays in the life of the city.
