Debate concerning the positive impact of high-rise residential buildings within the city is bound to incite intense discussion and, in the case of those in opposition, a high level of emotional, often militant rhetoric. Add coastal proximity to the discussion and the intensity ramps up.
The naysayers argue that the high-rise typology without exception causes social isolation, with poor design and environmental performance with reduced liveability.
