Homeowner Susan Handler has always loved thrift shopping for interesting pieces and has counted on DIY projects and furniture makeovers to personalize her spaces. However, she hasn’t always been so confident. “I used to be intimidated by power tools, but I wanted to do projects that involved them, so I overcame my fear and got a miter saw, air compressor and pneumatic nail gun,” she says.
