1 I took this photo at the full reach of my longest lens knowing I could crop in afterwards
2 A 16:9 aspect ratio removes unnecessary foreground and suits a powerful subject
3 The colours distract from the shape and power of the wave, so I chose to convert to black & white
4 My high-resolution sensor is sharp but noisy, so I often remove Lightroom’s default sharpening, and add texture locally
